Weekly Updates | November 3, 2026
Bonjour BP families,
First up- Halloween. BP students and staff understood the assignment! What amazing school spirit and costumes worn by the school community. From Colonel Sanders, to Star Wars, Coraline, Sesame Street, J Lo, Bob Ross, Mario, WAGS, Toy Story, etc. Way to go! The bar is set for next year.
Alberta Standard Time
With the changing weather and Alberta not turning clocks back this season, I wanted to send a reminder on a couple of fronts for families.
1- as it will be darker for much longer in the mornings, please have your students use the crosswalk when dropping off in the mornings. It is a safety hazard when students are darting onto the road in between cars and we want them to be safe. It is extremely difficult for drivers to see students in time to avoid accidents.
2- as it is also colder, please have students dress appropriately (clothes and footwear) for the weather, at lunch and for phys ed classes, as they will be outside. Space is at a premium, and students will be outside for some of their PE classes, even as it gets colder outside.
Parent Teacher Conferences
The booking window for Parent-teacher conferences will be open from November 16 at 8:00 AM and will close November 20 at 9:00 PM. See our Parent-Teacher Conferences information for booking instructions.
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on November 26 from 4:30-8:00 PM and November 27 from 8:30 AM-12:00 PM. All conferences will be held online via MS Teams.
If your child is progressing well academically and socially and you do not have any specific concerns, there is no need to book an interview at this time. To ensure we can provide adequate support and time for families who have questions or whose children may need additional assistance, we kindly ask that interview spaces be reserved for those who would benefit most from a meeting.
Thank you for your understanding and partnership in supporting student success. You will receive a separate email from School Conferences with the booking link as we approach the booking window opening.
BPPA Casino
A huge thanks to BPPA who is organizing volunteers for the upcoming casino in December. Please consider volunteering your time for this, as it provides the school with anywhere from $70 000-$85 000 that can be put towards enhancements/experiences/supplies for the school and students. The school will not be able to benefit from the casino proceeds if we do not have enough volunteers. No experience is necessary! Here is the link to sign up https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0F48A4A82BAAFA7-66906171-bishop#/.
Thank you to the 21 volunteers who have signed up. We still have 15 slots open.
