Bonjour BP families,
This week on Monday, teachers gathered from across the CBE to participate on various sessions in language pedagogy, wellbeing in the classroom, integrating Indigenous ways of knowing into the classrooms, and mathematics/literacy sessions. These sessions highlight the importance of teachers committing to lifelong learning in the profession.
Student Vote
On Mon. April 23, BP students an opportunity to cast their vote in the federal election. The Student Vote program is dedicated to enhancing civic education for school-aged youth. As part of the Social Studies curriculum, students learn about the federal political system and the platform of each of the federal party leaders. Families can support this learning through informed conversations leading up to the Canadian federal election. Learn more!
Welcome Back Mr. Aylesworth for Next Week
The tour de Mr. Aylesworth makes another stop at BP next week as he is helping out in the office while I am away on the Eastern Canada trip with students. Merci M. Aylesworth!
Support Staff Appreciation Week April 21-25
Thank you to our amazing support staff, not only this week, but for the hard work they do on behalf of our students on a daily basis! From talking care of our students in the main office to working with students in various areas of the school and classrooms, you are appreciated!
Good Citizenship in the Lakeview Community
As the spring weather improves, more students are active in the neighbourhood over the lunch hour. We regularly instruct students about their responsibilities for making positive choices and for representing the school in a favourable way. Families are requested to reinforce similar messages at home, specifically with respect to:
- Placing waste in the correct receptacles
- Respecting neighbour private property
- Behaving in an orderly way in the shops and restaurants surrounding the school
- Exercising safety and respect when accessing Calgary Transit
Students should be aware that the CBE Student Code of Conduct applies to all any activities that takes place within the school day, including on commutes to and from school, and over the lunch hour.
