Bonjour BP families, 

Starting this message with a warm welcome and thank you to Mr. Aylesworth who is filling in for Ms. Berringer while she is away for a few days. Soon, you will receive an invitation (from School Conference Manager) to book a time online for Parent Teacher Conferences, which will be held on October 24 and 25. You are then able to book times through your MyCBE account. The booking window will be open October 18 at 9 AM and will close October 23 at 7 PM. If you miss the booking window and would like to still meet with your child's teacher, please contact them directly via email to choose a mutually convenient time. The office will be unable to book a time outside of the booking window. 

BPPC and BPPA Updates 

A warm thank you to parents David K. and Cynthia B. who have just finished their terms on our BP Parents Association Executive. Thank you for all of your support in helping to provide some wonderful enrichment and opportunities for our school. We are thrilled to welcome Julie H. as our new BPPA President and Charissa H. who is continuing in her role as BPPC Chair. 

Student Extended Absences 

If your student will be absent for three days or more, please remember to come by the office and fill out an extended absence form. 

Athletic Updates 

Bravo to both our Senior Boys and Girls Basketball teams, who finished in first place at the Ernest Manning High School Tournament and to our Girls Soccer team who will be playing in the finals on Tuesday of next week! Go Panthers!

BPPA Casino Volunteers Requested 

The Bishop Pinkham Parents Association (BPPA) will be operating our next BP casino fundraiser on December 20 and 21, 2024 at the Elbow River Casino (218-18 Ave SE). This event happens only once every 2 years and our last one provided over $73,000, which the school used to fund field trips, artist-in-residence programs and the Grade 9 farewell celebration. 

We require 36 volunteers to run our casino and based on the last one, each volunteer earned over $2,000 per 8 hour shift or $250 per hour for our school. This fundraiser provides amazing value for both the volunteers' time and funds raised for Bishop Pinkham school. 

Absolutely no experience is necessary as all training will be provided at the casino, in addition to a free meal and parking. Volunteers need to be a minimum of 18 years of age and can be BP family members, friends or neighbours. Please consider signing up for a shift.

Yearbook Update 

The yearbooks that were ordered for last school year will be distributed within the next few days. Thank you for your patience as we worked to sort and distribute these. Grade 10 students who have siblings currently in the school will receive their copy as well to bring home.
