Bonjour BP families.
At the conclusion of the first month of school, we reflect on the substantial advances made. Students have begun to form relationships with teachers and peers. Teachers have begun to know their learners through conversations, literacy/numeracy formative assessments, and Individualized Program planning. We are now in routines and rituals that form the foundation of a successful year of learning together.
Visitors to School
Please note that any visitors to the school for whatever reason, are required to check in at the front office immediately upon admittance to the building. It is important that we know who is in the building and for which purpose to keep our students and staff safe.

Remembrance Day
The Bishop Pinkham Remembrance Day assembly will be held on Thursday, November 7 this year. We are currently looking for anyone in our parent community that is or was involved in the Armed Forces, or who has a connection to them, to be a guest speaker for our assembly. If you are, or know anyone who is interested in helping us to make this event a success, please email rymikalson@cbe.ab.ca.
BPPA Casino Volunteers Requested
The Bishop Pinkham Parents Association (BPPA) will be operating our next BP casino fundraiser on December 20 and 21, 2024 at the Elbow River Casino (218-18 Ave SE). This event happens only once every 2 years and our last one provided over $73,000, which the school used to fund field trips, artist-in-residence programs and the Grade 9 farewell celebration.
We require 36 volunteers to run our casino and based on the last one, each volunteer earned over $2,000 per 8 hour shift or $250 per hour for our school. This fundraiser provides amazing value for both the volunteers' time and funds raised for Bishop Pinkham school.
Absolutely no experience is necessary as all training will be provided at the casino, in addition to a free meal and parking. Volunteers need to be a minimum of 18 years of age and can be BP family members, friends or neighbours. Please consider signing up for a shift using the link below.
