Bonjour BP families,
We are celebrating Kindness Week here at BP February 11-18.
Kindness Week is designed to promote compassion, empathy, and positive interactions among our students, staff, and wider community. Our goal is to foster a culture of kindness and build a caring environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
Throughout Kindness Week, Mme. Hewitt's 7C1 Humanities class will be organizing various activities and events to encourage acts of kindness and spread positivity. These activities may include:
- Random Acts of Kindness Challenges: Students will be encouraged to perform random acts of kindness both within the school and in their communities. Whether it's holding the door open for someone, writing a note of encouragement, or simply offering a smile, every act of kindness counts.
- Kindness Wall: A Kindness Wall will be set up where students can post messages of kindness, gratitude, and appreciation for their peers and teachers. This will serve as a visual reminder of the positive impact that kindness can have on our school community.
- Community Service Projects: Students are encouraged to participate in various community service projects, such as volunteering at local shelters, organizing food drives, or writing letters to seniors in nursing homes. These projects will not only benefit those in need but also instill a sense of empathy and social responsibility in our students.
We believe that Kindness Week is an excellent opportunity for our students to reflect on the importance of kindness and empathy, and to actively contribute to creating a more positive and caring school environment. We encourage you to support your child's participation in Kindness Week activities and to reinforce the values of kindness and compassion at home.

AHS Parent Session- Vaping
Join the Alberta Health Services Healthy Schools and Population Health Promotion team on March 6th from 7-8:30pm for a virtual parent learning session on the youth vaping epidemic. In this session, parents will learn about what vaping is, current vaping trends among youth and the harms and risks associated with it. We’ll explore what legislation is in place at the local and provincial level to combat youth vaping use and what you and your child’s school can do about it. Ideas on how to talk to kids and help them quit, as well as where to go for more information will also be covered. Have your voice be heard and your questions answered by an expert in the field.
