BP Weekly Update | January 23, 2024
Bonjour BP families:
We are looking forward to welcoming our new Assistant Principal, Mme Tara Berringer, who will be joining Bishop Pinkham effective February 12. A warm thanks is extended to Mr. Aylesworth, who will be with us until February 9.
We have finally had a warm up in weather! Please ensure that your students are well dressed for any Phys Ed classes that might take place outside over the next while. Students will still need proper footwear, gloves/mitts, and toques.
I'd like to thank our staff over the past couple of weeks who were able to provide spaces and activities for our students to keep them warm and occupied over the lunch hour because it was so cold outside.
Cafeteria Update
Please note that there will be no food sales this Thursday, January 25. The space will remain open for students during lunch to eat.
Complementary Classes
A note that students (with the exception of Band students, as this is a full year option) will have their option classes change on January 31. A special thank you to Ms. Doyle, who worked tirelessly over the past few weekends to accommodate class change requests. Not all requests were able to be honoured, as most of our classes are at capacity, the requested class was not offered in the block or the teacher otherwise teaching the class has another teaching assignment during the requested block.
Extra Curricular Volleyball
All CBE middle schools have set similar expectations for games that promote safety, respect, and a positive experience for all. They include:
- All student spectators/athletes must be under the direct supervision of a designated adult for the duration of the games
- There are no in an out privileges for spectators
- Student spectators without parental supervision will be directed by the hosting school administration to leave the building
- All spectators - students or adults - are expected to cheer and support players/coaches/referees/parents/guardians in a positive manner
- Disrespectful behaviours will be addressed by school administration promptly and may result in spectators being directed to leave the game and the school building
- Parents/guardians who bring younger children are responsible at all times for their direct supervision. Please ensure that they are not wandering the halls and playing on phys ed equipment in the gym/on stage
These expectations have been reviewed with all of our students in school. Please review with your student(s) as well. We thank you in advance for your ongoing support.
