BP Weekly Updates | December 5, 2023

Bonjour BP families:

I can't believe it's already December. We have lots to celebrate. One of the items that stands out is the student involvement in lunch time intramurals for dodgeball. Seeing homeroom participation and buy in is a joy! There has been some stiff competition amongst classes and high turnout. Kudos to our Leadership students for organizing such a fun event for our student body.

Please note that the cafeteria will be closed this Wednesday, December 6th for food purchase only. It will still remain open as a room in which students can eat.

Below are some more Leadership initiatives to share with you from our students.

Dear Parents and Guardians:

We are excited to announce that Bishop Pinkham will be hosting a book fair in December, and we need your support to make it a success! Here are the details:

From December 4th to December 7th, we will be collecting used books in Homerooms. Please encourage your child to bring in age-appropriate books that are in good condition.

The book fair will officially take place from December 11th to December 14th. During lunchtime, students will have the opportunity to visit the library and purchase books for $2 each.

All proceeds from the book fair will be donated to KidSport, an organization that provides grants to cover registration fees, enabling all kids aged 18 and under to participate in sports.

Your support in encouraging your child to bring in used books will help us make this event a success and contribute to a worthy cause. Thank you for your time and support.

Sincerely,

The Leadership Students

Dear Bishop Pinkham school community:

We are excited to announce that we are organizing and hosting a Bake Sale on December 14, 2023. As part of this event, we extend an invitation to any parents interested in participating by contributing school-friendly treats, either baked or bought. Please see the attached AHS Bake Sale Guidelines

For those opting to bake, please ensure to include a list of ingredients along with your baked items. Items will need to be individually wrapped. Please do not prepare/bring any items that contain nuts. If preparing items that specifically contain no eggs/gluten free/dairy free, please also ensure the items are labelled as such.

To submit your baked goods, kindly give them to your child to bring to school on the day of the bake sale. There will be designated tables set up at the main entrance, where Leadership students and teachers will be present to supervise this initiative. Please also email M. Blais in advance if planning to contribute, as this will help him to organize tables and logistics. His email is seblais@cbe.ab.ca

Students will have the opportunity to purchase these delightful treats before school, during locker break, lunch, and period 7 of Day B.

All proceeds generated from this event will be donated to the Brown Bagging Lunch program, supporting the provision of safe and healthy lunches for students who lack access to regular meals.

Thank you for your participation and support in making this event a success!

Winter Band Concert and Fine Arts Celebration

Our band students, under the guidance of Mr. Mikalson, have been hard at work preparing their repertoire to perform at our Winter Band Concert to be held on December 7th. We are so excited to also share the amazing work of our art and drama students, led by Ms. Stunell and Ms. Duffy. Please see attached invite for the gallery walk and band concert information.

Lost and Found

We have a number of jackets, hoodies, and other clothing items in our lost and found. All unclaimed items will be bagged and donated to charity the week of December 18th. If your child has any missing items, please remind them to have a look.

Fees are now online
