Bonjour BP families

I hope you have been keeping warm in this freezing weather. We are back in full swing here with Volleyball season taking flight. Thank you to our coaches who have volunteered their time to make this happen for our students.

I'd also like to take a moment to thank our parent volunteers who faithfully show up for our students and run the Healthy Hunger fun lunches. Your dedication and generosity is very much appreciated here at BP!

BP Open House

We are excited to host our information evening on January 25,  6:30-8:00 PM, for new and prospective students to Bishop Pinkham for the 2024-2025 school year. Please see attached invite . All feeder schools have received the same invitation to pass along to families, and Mme. Hewitt / M. Blais will be busy making stops at our feeder schools to let grade 6 students know about our Late French Immersion/Continuing French Immersion/English programming options and complementary options BP has to offer. We look forward to hosting!

Extra Curricular Volleyball

All CBE middle schools have set similar expectations for games that promote safety, respect, and a positive experience for all. They include:

  • All student spectators/athletes must be under the direct supervision of a designated adult for the duration of the games
  • There are no in and out privileges for spectators
  • Student spectators without parental supervision will be directed by the hosting school administration to leave the building
  • All spectators - students or adults - are expected to cheer and support players/coaches/referees/parents/guardians in a positive manner
  • Disrespectful behaviours will be addressed by school administration promptly and may result in spectators being directed to leave the game and the school building
  • Parents/guardians who bring younger children are responsible at all times for their direct supervision. Please ensure that they are not wandering the halls and playing on phys ed equipment in the gym/on stage

These expectations have been reviewed with all of our students in school. Please review with your student(s) as well. We thank you in advance for your ongoing support.

Complementary Classes

A note that students (with the exception of Band students, as this is a full year option) will have their option classes change at the end of the month. For students wishing to switch options, there is an option change request form available in the office. Note that while we will do our best to accommodate requests, that not all requests will be able to be honoured. There are many factors that influence timetabling, such as course capacity, course availability in the particular time slot, etc. The submission deadline for the complementary course change request is January 19.
