Bonjour BP families:

 

Today's message comes a day early, as we have news of our new Acting Assistant Principal, Chris Aylesworth, who will be joining BP starting on November 7- December 22. His term may be extended depending upon whether or not Mr. Cutler's new acting role is extended. 

Mr. Aylesworth retired as principal of Jennie Elliott School in 2019 and has been a substitute principal at a variety of schools ever since. His experience is varied including working in schools from Kindergarten to Grade 12. He has also worked at schools offering Spanish, German and specialized programming to meet the needs of diverse learners. In addition, he was a faculty supervisor at Mount Royal University working with aspiring teachers. Mr. Aylesworth has many fond memories of his time in Lakeview and is excited to meet some former students at Bishop Pinkham School. We are looking forward to our work together. 

Reunis en Francophonie 

Today we welcomed students from Westgate and Western Canada High Schools to take part in a French Improvisation workshop. Bravo to all of the students who participated, have a chance to experience French in a different setting, and connect with our feeder schools for French Immersion. If your student took part, ask them how the poutine was! 

Provincial Achievement Results 

All Grade 7 students that completed Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) in May-June 2023 will receive an envelope with their official results this week to share with parents/guardians. These results are different from the raw scores provided in June, and reflect achievement in relation to the entire province of Alberta.  

Parent Teacher Interviews 

Interviews will be on Thursday Nov 23rd (3:30-8), and Friday Nov 24th (8:00-12). They will be online so that we can accommodate the high number of requests. To book, please go to your MyCBE account. The booking window opens for parents at 9 AM on Friday, November 17th. It closes Wednesday, November 22nd at 6PM. If you find that the teacher you want to see is booked up, please email them to set up an alternate time to discuss your child's achievement.

BPPC Update 

Congratulations to Charissa H, who was acclaimed BPPC President for the upcoming year. Our council has a vacancies for the areas of VP and Secretary. If interested, please let me know, and I can connect you to our President.
