Bonjour BP families,

Thousands of teachers were inspired last week, through the workshops and keynote speakers offered at the annual Calgary City Teachers’ Convention.  CBE teachers spent these days in sessions targeting their responsibilities tied to the Alberta Education Teacher Quality Standard: Engaging in Career Long Learning.  It is vital for teachers to maintain current with the rapidly-changing world we live in, to seek, critically review, and apply educational research to improve practice. Actively participating in professional sessions allows teachers and administrators to build capacity to support student success in inclusive, welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environments.

School Planning Survey

This is the time of year in which each school principal in the CBE engages with families, and seeks input on our School Development Plan, Budget and Fees for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. I request that you review it carefully and provide your invaluable feedback through the survey, below.  The survey will take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete. Based on your responses, the school will make important decisions accordingly. Access our survey here.

Thank you in advance for your involvement in the continual improvement of our school. The survey will close on February 28.

AHS Parent Session- Vaping

Join the Alberta Health Services Healthy Schools and Population Health Promotion
team on March 6th from 7-8:30pm for a virtual parent learning session on the youth vaping epidemic. In this session, parents will learn about what vaping is, current vaping trends among youth and the harms and risks associated with it.  We’ll explore what legislation is in place at the local and provincial level to combat youth vaping use and what you and your child’s school can do about it. Ideas on how to talk to kids and help them quit, as well as where to go for more information will also be covered. Have your voice be heard and your questions answered by an expert in the field.
