Bonjour BP families
If there's one thing I can say about how terrific this community is, it's that when we ask for assistance, boy do you deliver! Earlier this week, we made a callout for casino volunteers, and you showed up! Thank you to each and every one who has answered our call- it is so, so appreciated. The update for volunteers is below.
BPPA Casino Volunteers Requested - we need 3 backup volunteers!
The Bishop Pinkham Parents Association (BPPA) will be operating our next BP casino fundraiser on December 20 and 21, 2024 at the Elbow River Casino (218-18 Ave SE). We need 3 backup night shift volunteers that will only be called upon when another volunteer is not able to do their shift.
Absolutely no experience is necessary as all training will be provided at the casino, in addition to a free meal and parking. Volunteers need to be a minimum of 18 years of age and can be BP family members, friends or neighbours. Please consider signing up for a shift using the link below.

Athletic Updates
As we wrap up our basketball season, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the hard work and dedication our players have shown throughout the season. Each athlete has made significant improvements, not only in their skills but also in their teamwork and sportsmanship.
We would like to celebrate the accomplishments of our basketball teams:
Junior Teams
Junior Girls - Finished 5th place in the regular season
Junior Boys - Finished 9th place in the regular season
Senior teams
Both our Sr. Girls and Sr. Boys' team finished 1st in their divisions! They will both finish off the season competing in the tournament of champions from December 4-6.
Lastly, thank you for your support, encouragement, and for being such an integral part of our team.
Mustard Seed Charity
Bishop Pinkham leadership students are hosting many events to fundraise including purchasing baking, candy grams, and special lunch in the weeks approaching winter break. We are asking families to assist their children in bringing in a new, unused pair of warm socks, preferably wool or 100% cotton so we can stuff them with supplies! The proceeds from our fundraising will purchase essential daily items to fill the socks before drop off to The Mustard Seed.
Bake Sale
If you are doing your own holiday baking and are willing to donate a nut-free, delicious holiday treat with an ingredient list, please do so on the 9th and 10th of December. Items should be brought to the Leadership room (room 14), and selling will be happening on the 11th and 12th in the cafeteria at lunch. Prices will range from $1-5 depending on the size and delicacy of the dessert. Students must pay with cash. All proceeds go to The Mustard Seed.
Pizza Lunch
On Tuesday, December 10, we will be having a pizza lunch! Students can buy a slice of pizza (pepperoni or cheese), a juice box, and a popsicle, all for $6.00! Students are reminded to bring the money the day of and will be served in the cafeteria. Cash payments only. All proceeds go to The Mustard Seed initiative.
Candy Grams
Leadership will be selling candy grams the week of December 2-6 in the cafeteria. Students can buy one for themselves or a friend to have delivered the week of December 16 as a little treat! The price for each candy gram is $1.
