Bonjour BP families
This week is a shortened week with Teacher's Convention approaching. Although students are off on Thursday and Friday, teachers from across Calgary will spend 2 days in professional development sessions geared to reflect upon and grow in teaching practice. Students will also be off on Monday, as it is Family Day. The next parent update will be sent on Friday, February 21.
As we are in the midst of a deep freeze, please ensure that your students are dressed appropriately for the weather, in particular if buses are running late. When it gets this cold outside, we encourage students to remain indoors for lunch and participate in activities to keep active or socialize with friends. The restriction of personal mobile devices continues to be in effect over the entirety of the school day, also including lunch time.
Semester 2 Option Classes
Semester 2 option classes will change on January 28. Students wishing to change options may submit a request form (available in office from February 3). Please note that we may not be able to accommodate all requests due to balancing class sizes and class availability for the specific time block. Option forms are due to the office no later than February 12, and will require a parent/guardian signature. Students are expected to attend their classes as listed on their schedule until a change has been confirmed by the main office.
French Summer Camps – Alliance Française
Boost your child and teen’s French skills this summer with fun educational and recreational activities, with options tailored for every age. Camps run from July 7-Aug. 20, in the heart of Calgary’s neighborhood of Marda Loop. Classes are taught by highly qualified teachers from France. Learn more through the following link:

French for Parents
CBE Chinook Learning Services, Continuing Education, is pleased to offer entry level French classes to parents. Build your French language skills in this introductory course. Learn or refresh vocabulary and grammar while increasing your confidence speaking French. Become more comfortable helping your children with their homework and conversing with the school staff. Required textbook (approximately $20, available on Amazon). Details for purchasing it will be provided upon registration.
