Welcome back BP families! 

Day one with students complete! We loved seeing new and familiar faces back in the halls. You can expect a weekly update from the school, usually on Tuesdays.  These updates will also be posted on our school website 

Class Change Requests and Complementary Courses  

Designated teachers and class cohorts were communicated on the first day of school.  We are experiencing high levels of enrollment, which require us to continually adjust and balance classes.  Parent requests for class changes cannot be accommodated at this time. On the same note, students wishing to change complementary classes (options) will be staying in their classes as assigned for a couple of weeks as we are still adding students to our roster. Once enrolment has settled and there is a chance to switch options, an option change request form will be made available for students.   

Forms, Forms, and More Forms!  

The beginning of the school year means many forms to sign. The following forms are no longer available hard copy and can be filled out on your SchoolEngage account The deadline for form completion is September 15.  

Please log on and complete as soon as possible so we have accurate records for our students.  

• Demographic Verification Form   
• Annual Authorization Form (combines the following forms: School District use of Personal Information; Consent for CBE Use of Student Information; Consent for use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups)  
• Citizenship Information Update Form  

These forms to be filled out are not on your School Engage account and are attached below. Please print, sign, and return to homeroom teacher.  

• Science Safety Contract 
• Digital Citizenship/Admiral Use Policy  (for use if your child may use digital resources/tools online while at school, in line with the recent Ministerial Order)  
• Student Health Plan   (to be completed only if a physical or medical condition may affect attendance or if medication is to be taken at school)  
•  General Letter to Cover Walking Trips from the School  . These trips are generally short, and don't require a signed consent form.

Sports Seasons Begin! 

We are excited to inform you about the first practice for the Cross-Country team and the tryout dates for Soccer teams! These activities offer a fantastic opportunity for our students to stay active, develop teamwork skills, and build friendships. Below is information regarding the Cross-Country Club and Soccer tryouts for next week:    

Cross-Country Team  

• All athletes are welcome to join and participate. NO tryouts as all athletes make the team and attend the meets.    

 Soccer  

• Tryout schedule below is for both BOYS and GIRLS team    

Please ensure that your child comes prepared with appropriate athletic attire, water, and a signed copy of the Annual Authorization for Athletic Tryout (you can check off all the sports you would want for your child to try out for the whole year- this way you will avoid signing multiple forms for multiple sports) 

We encourage all interested students to participate, regardless of their experience level. It’s a great way for them to challenge themselves and be part of our school spirit!  

• Of note: effective Sept 1, the Alberta Fairness and Safety in Sport Act comes into effect. All female athletes wishing to compete/tryout for female sports teams are required to also return the following eligibility form  alongside the annual authorization form above. CBE Bus Routes and Stops  

Bus route, stop location and stop time information are available through MyCBE to registered students. The stop time provided is the time the bus leaves the stop. Please be at the stop at least five minutes before the scheduled departure time. Buses will not wait at or return to stops once they have left. CBE General Transportation
