Bonjour BP Families

I'd like to take a moment to officially welcome our new Assistant Principal, Lise Twa, to BP. Lise started this week and has had the opportunity to visit the school on several occasions over the month of September to meet our students and get familiarized with the building. We are thrilled to have you here!

As well, a hearty thanks to Mme Wright, who was in the role of Acting Assistant Principal over the month of September and who quickly got to know the students, staff, and school routines!

Transportation Registration: Confirmation & Cancellation

Families registered for yellow school bus received confirmation emails the week of September 22.

No action is required for families who will be using bus service for the school year.

Families who no longer require bus service can cancel their registration in MyCBE by Wednesday, September 30 with no financial impact.

After this date, fees will continue to be charged until a cancellation is received, regardless of actual usage. Retroactive fee refunds will not be provided.

Transportation fees will be loaded into MyCBE later in October.

Safe Streets

The safety of our students is everyone’s responsibility. Please take a few moments to review these important reminders with your child and keep them in mind when travelling to and from school.

For Students and Families

  • Always cross the street at a designated crossing, corner, or intersection.
  • Avoid crossing between parked vehicles or buses, as drivers may not be able to see you.
  • Look left, right, and left again before crossing, and continue watching for traffic as you cross.
  • Be aware of turning vehicles and make eye contact with drivers whenever possible before stepping into the roadway.
  • Stay focused while crossing. Put away phones and remove headphones so you can hear and see what is happening around you.
  • Walk or ride with friends when possible and wear bright or reflective clothing to help drivers see you more easily.

For Drivers

  • Please be patient and allow extra time when travelling in school zones.
  • Follow posted speed limits and use extra caution whenever children are nearby.
  • Watch carefully for pedestrians, especially between parked vehicles where children may step out unexpectedly.
  • School buses require extra space to maneuver and have large blind spots. Please drive carefully around them.
  • Do not stop or park in school bus loading zones. These areas must remain clear so buses can safely pick up and drop off students.
  • Avoid making U-turns in playground zones or near crosswalks, as they can create unexpected hazards for students and families.
